I’ve lost my donor card. What should I do?
You do not have to have a donor card on you, because your choice has been recorded centrally. If anything does happen to you, the doctor is obliged to consult the Donor Register.
The doctor checks whether you are registered and what your choice is. People will not look for a card, because too much precious time can then be lost and because it is not possible to assume that this was the final wish. You receive confirmation of your registration (card) so that you can check that your details are correct and that your choice has been recorded properly.
